Doug's rugby career started while attending Virginia Tech as a player. He continued playing while at the University of Georgia as a lock and #8 but expanded his versatility by starting a game at every position except hooker over the course of his career.
Upon graduation, Doug became an Assistant Coach for the University of Georgia for seven years and later became the Head Coach for the next seven years.
When he isn't coaching or working as a software engineer, Doug likes to play disc golf and spend time with his wife, Lindsay, and their two daughters, Sophie and Sierra.
